Although the Adani Group made it clear that it will be participating in the next 5G spectrum auctions, it did not intend to introduce any new services for consumer mobility.

In response to inquiries made on Friday, the group stated, “We are one of the numerous applicants engaging in the open bidding process as India prepares to bring out future generation 5G services through this auction.

The statement said, “Our objective is not to be in the consumer mobility area.

The company announced that among its other companies, it will employ 5G to provide private network solutions for ports, airports, and power generation and transmission.

According to the statement, “We are taking part in the 5G spectrum auction to offer private network solutions and improved cyber security in the airport, ports & logistics, power production, transmission, distribution, and different manufacturing processes.”

The statement continued by stating that if it were to win 5G spectrum in the open bidding, it would be consistent with the Group’s recent declaration to greatly increase the Adani Foundation’s investments in rural regions’ health, education, and skill development.

The company said, “In addition, we will require ultra-high quality data streaming capabilities over a high frequency and low latency 5G network across all our companies as we construct our own digital platform comprising super applications, edge data centres, and industrial command and control centres.

The announcement comes amid reports that the current telecom giants Bharti Airtel, Reliance Jio, and Vodafone Idea are interested in competing for 5G airwaves. The three carriers collectively serve about 1 billion clients and have significant investments in the consumer mobility arena.
