The film Samrat Prithviraj, starring Akshay Kumar and Manushi Chillar, has been banned in Kuwait and Oman, and has been halted in Qatar, according to IANS. The film Samrat Prithviraj is based on the life and heroism of the daring and powerful King Prithviraj Chauhan. Akshay Kumar plays the title character.
“The problem is becoming tinted with a religious prism in some nations,” a source working in foreign territories told IANS. People should see a film that is historically accurate and realistic from a distance. The truth is that Muslims were the invaders who plundered India. The truth is that Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan battled one such invasion and attempted to safeguard India to the end. History should be seen for what it is.”
“After a ban in Kuwait and Oman, another Islamic country, Qatar, has placed the film’s distribution on hold,” the insider continued. Indians residing in these nations would be unable to view the film, which is quite terrible. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for everyone to view, enjoy, and celebrate one’s past. People are attempting to deny Indians access to this moment. Better judgement should prevail.”
Meanwhile, the Indian states of Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttarakhand have declared the film tax-free. Yogi Adityanath, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, saw the film at a special screening in Lucknow on Thursday and proclaimed it tax-free.
Samrat Prithviraj, directed by Dr Chandraprakash Dwivedi, will be released in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu on June 3rd.
Miss World 2017 Manushi Chhillar makes her Bollywood debut in the film, which also stars Sanjay Dutt and Sonu Sood. In the film, Akshay will portray warrior king Prithviraj, while Manushi will play his love interest, Samyukta.
