India rejected the report on religious freedom from a US commission on Saturday, calling it unreliable and prejudiced. Additionally, it said that the report did not comprehend the diversity of the nation.

The US Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) proposed in a report published in June that the US government identify India and a number of other nations as “countries of special concern” with regard to religious freedom.
“On India, there have been skewed and misleading statements. These remarks demonstrate a profound ignorance about India, its constitutional system, its diversity, and its democratic spirit “Arindam Bagchi, a spokeswoman for the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), commented in response to the US panel’s findings.

“Unfortunately, USCIRF continues to inadvertently mislead the truth in its remarks and publications in order to further its personal agenda. Such behaviours simply help to increase doubts about the organization’s neutrality and integrity “It was ad.

The US group had suggested that the Biden administration identify 11 other countries as “countries of special concern,” in addition to India, China, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. These suggestions, however, are not enforceable against the US government.
