DHAKA, BANGLADESH: Showers are expected to deluge all eight divisions of Bangladesh in the next 24 hours, according to the Met Office on Friday.
“Rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind are likely to occur at many locations over Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong, and Sylhet divisions, as well as at a few locations over Rangpur, Rajshahi, and Mymensingh divisions,” the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said in a bulletin.
A moderate heatwave that is now spreading over Pabna, Chuadanga, Khulna, Patuakahli, and Bagerhat may be easing in certain areas.
However, across the country, day and night temperatures may stay virtually constant.
Showers may become more intense in the next 72 hours, according to the BMD prediction.
The maximum rainfall in Rangamati district was 54mm, while the maximum temperature in Mongla district was 37.2°C.
