Amit Shah, Union Home Minister, stated that village development is critical to India’s objective of becoming a $5 trillion economy.
He said, “I am of the firm belief that development of the country is not possible without the development of its villages. The country will thrive if communities are prosperous, self-sufficient, and have enough amenities. It will contribute to the realisation of Atmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliance India) and the transformation of India into a five trillion dollar economy.”

The home minister expressed his delight that so many students had graduated from Gujarat’s Institute of Rural Management and would engage in rural development and management.
