Warner Bros. Discovery announced its India, Southeast Asia, and Korea (INSEAK) executive team on Thursday, led by Clement Schwebig, who will serve as president and managing director for the region.

The news comes on the heels of a similar set of appointments for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA), led by Priya Dogra, president and managing director for those areas. Schwebig and Dogra will both report to Gerhard Zeiler, the newly amalgamated entertainment conglomerate’s president of international.

“To be more nimble and locally relevant, our area will be structured with a territory centred approach,” Schwebig said in an internal memo to workers. “At the same time, we will use our size throughout the company and area to bring better knowledge and efficiency.” This means that certain functions will be national, while others will be regional.”

Discovery executive Jeeyoung Lee has been designated general manager Korea, while HBO Max veteran Arjun Nohwar has been made general manager India (Megha Tata, who has headed Discovery’s suite of brands in India for years, is departing the firm). Shonali Bedi will oversee Southeast Asia affiliate distribution and digital relationships, as well as business growth and insights. Cindy Ma will manage affiliate distribution and advertising sales in Taiwan, while Yasmin Zahid, a three-year veteran of HBO/WarnerMedia affiliate distribution in the area, will step down following a transition period.

On the content front — including programming, original production, and acquisition — Schwebig reiterated that Warner Bros. Discovery will operate in three verticals, with Magdalene Ew heading up entertainment, Christopher Ho leading kids content, and Lynn Ng taking the lead on factual and lifestyle content while also remaining as head of content operations for the region.

Kurt Rieder will continue to lead theatrical distribution while also serving as part of Andrew Cripps’ international theatrical operations; Jae Chang will continue to lead TV distribution and home entertainment; and Vikram Sharma will lead consumer products licencing while also overseeing advertising sales in Southeast Asia.

Jason Monteiro will lead an Integrated Marketing team throughout INSEAK in addition to his coordinating job for streaming services. He will lead marketing and creative services across all lines of business, working directly with the D2C marketing team, according to Schwebig.

Athreyan ‘Auto’ Sundararajan, VP of Group Marketing, who headed the marketing and creative teams of the historic WarnerMedia companies, is also leaving the firm.

“It is always tough to see talented colleagues and friends depart, and I am very thankful for all their efforts to make our firm the success it is today,” Schwebig said.
